A Space for Distillation

The task was to build a digital presence from the ground up that commanded a sense of luxury and grandeur. We needed to establish a clear, elevated boundary between this new high-end identity and Susan’s established commercial work.

We began by reviewing Susan’s extensive thirty-five-year archive. This body of work provided the foundation for a visual language that feels established and deeply rooted. We avoided passing trends to focus on the textures and tones that have defined her output since the beginning of her career. The primary goal was to find a balance between her heritage and a modern luxury aesthetic.

Screensilk delivered the art direction and brand identity for this new venture. We built the digital presence as a curated experience that mirrors the exclusivity of the jewellery itself. By focusing on a narrative-driven structure, we ensured that every element of the user journey conveyed the story of a craftsperson at the peak of her powers, while the site objectives focused clearly on commissions.

The design uses a sophisticated palette and commanding, grand typography to frame the work. High-resolution imagery is presented with editorial care and elegant motion to draw the viewer into the work. We used expansive layouts and high-fashion imagery to create a luxurious atmosphere. This encourages a slower pace of interaction and allows the intricate textures of the jewellery to remain the singular focus of the page.

Launching an eponymous brand for a maker of Susan’s calibre is a significant responsibility. The final result is a site that acts as a true testament to her 35-year heritage, offering a prestigious and distinct sanctuary for her most ambitious work.
