Rather than a conventional redesign, the brief was to create something closer to a publication. Fred wanted a website that felt like encountering a carefully produced monograph, where images, text, and pacing worked together to guide the viewer through the work.
Starting Point
We began by reviewing Fred’s existing site alongside his catalogues, photography, and exhibition materials. Particular attention was paid to how his work is sequenced and how viewers move through it, page by page, image by image.
Our Approach
Screensilk designed a bespoke website that draws directly from the language of high-end print. Layouts were treated like spreads, typography was chosen for its quiet authority, and motion was used to introduce rhythm and progression.
Subtle animation allows the site to unfold gradually as the viewer scrolls, creating a sense of continuity and focus. The experience is immersive but measured, encouraging attention rather than speed.
